Have you ever woken up from a dream that lingered like a riddle, refusing to fade with the morning light? So many of us brush our dreams aside as nonsense — random leftovers of the mind. But what if each dream is a doorway? What if, in sleep, your subconscious is handing you the keys to unlock the parts of you that you’ve kept buried for too long?

Carl Jung believed our dreams are not just stories spun by chance, but messages from the depths of the psyche — alive with symbols, archetypes, and forgotten truths. In Jungian psychology, the dream is not something to be solved like a puzzle but something to be entered — a landscape where our hidden selves come to meet us.

When we dream, the conscious mind loosens its grip. What steps forward is the Shadow — those parts of us we’ve denied, rejected, or feared. These shadow figures can appear as unsettling characters, animals, strangers, or even familiar faces behaving strangely. They come bearing news: that we are more than what we show the world. That our anger, desire, wildness, and deep longing hold gold, if only we dare to look.

Interpreting dreams is not about dictionaries of symbols — it’s about relationship. Your subconscious speaks in a language that is uniquely yours. A snake might mean terror for one person, transformation for another. The house you dream of might be the architecture of your own soul — with locked rooms that ache to be opened.

When we begin to listen to our dreams, we begin to reclaim parts of ourselves we thought we had lost. A dream can guide us to the passion we buried to please others. It can show us the courage we forgot we had. It can reveal grief that needs to be held, or a vision of a future self calling us to expand beyond the life we know.

Working with dreams is an act of inner expansion. It invites us to meet the Shadow not as an enemy but as a guide. To stand in the mirror of our subconscious and say: Yes, I see you. I will not turn away.

So tonight, as you drift into sleep, try this: Keep a notebook by your bed. When you wake, write down anything — an image, a word, a feeling. Let it speak to you throughout the day. Ask it what it wants you to know. Be curious. Be gentle. Be brave enough to listen.

Your dreams are not random noise — they are the oldest language you know. And they are always waiting for you to remember.

The post When Dreams Speak: Listening to the Whisper of Your Hidden Self appeared first on Tiina Urm.

Don’t you admire people who can reinvent their lives, always following their heart, passionate about what they are doing? People who are not afraid to go into the unknown, try something entirely new.

Every true success is built on a leap into the unknown.

Everyone who has arrived somewhere meaningful, has been a beginner once. Stepping onto a path where the success is not guaranteed. But going anyway.

When we embody the fool, we are learning to be comfortable with discomfort, embodying the eternal explorer, learner. This is the prerequisite of creating and leading. People we admire are often great examples of fool archetype – Richard Branson, Jim Carrey, Lady Gaga. Maybe you don’t like them, but you can still admit and admire that their boldness, creativity and willingness to reinvent themselves and their work has made masterpieces of their lives.

We all start this life as great fools.

Look at kids. They are taking one leap after another. Not being afraid to fail, endlessly curious, open, testing, discovering. Following their inner pull and curiosity.

If we grow out of the fool, it does not mean we grow up. Rather it means we grow stagnant, fearful of the new, fearful of being a beginner in something, of not knowing yet. We grow fearful of growth and we stop flowing with life.

The fool keeps us alive, open and fully engaged with life as it meets us. It puts us on the path that is undiscovered and entirely ours. It leads us to live full, vibrant lives, where we feel connected with ourselves and the world every step of the way. It makes us discover and create things that only we could.

The post Archetypes: The fool appeared first on Tiina Urm.

Tarot cards came into my life when I realized during a major crisis that my mind is a very good helper in every area of my life, but it is not always enough. Sometimes it is important to take a step back to see your life as a whole, to see your life as a journey. It also helps to find inner peace and clarity in more difficult stages and the sense of direction needed to make decisions.

When we look at our life as a journey, we realize that it has its own key themes and challenges. Certain questions and situations come back to us again and again.

When we understand what challenge and lesson they represent for us, it becomes clearer what we need to do to move through them and reach the next (developmental) stage in our life’s great journey.

I love to use the most classic Rider-Waite Tarot deck in my work, which is like a complete human journey and archetypal system. Each card, each character in this whole represents a certain piece of the mosaic of being human. Tarot, as a complete archetypal system, can reflect back to us our own unique and individual journey, help us understand where we are at the moment and what we need to move forward in the right direction.

It seems to me that an indispensable component of working with cards is a mystical perception of the world, the recognition of the existence of some higher organizing force – in whatever way we perceive it (some god or goddess, primal energy, great spirit, guardian angels, ancestral spirits, etc.). Acknowledging and relying on this higher power creates a safe space for us to work with the cards as an archetypal system. It doesn’t matter who or what it is that we want to rely on in a spiritual sense, the important thing is that it has meaning for us and we trust it.

Another essential component in working with the cards is our body and energetic system. Our body talks to us all the time – if we start to consciously observe ourselves, we soon discover that many things we see or hear cause sensations and feelings in our body that are so fast that we cannot associate them with any analytical thought process. We see a visual or hear a single sentence and it creates inexplicably strong sensations in us – we feel a rush of energy, tingling in our hands and feet, feeling of hot or cold, etc. It is the way our body and energetic system constantly talks to us. Indicates that important information for us is hidden here – look more carefully and pay attention.

By using the cards in this way, we are in contact with a deep intuitive self-awareness as well as with the ‘higher’ spheres at the same time. We open ourselves to the possibility that new information and insights about our place and role in the bigger picture enter our consciousness. It helps to open your eyes and perceive your life much more comprehensively.

A great Tarot session most likely won’t tell you anything you didn’t know before, but it will help you see the whole of your life more clearly, more connectedly, and more expansively. To place both rational and intuitive information in the right place, to see more clearly the connections between things, big directions and choices. All of this gives us inner peace and clarity and helps us understand what are the most authentic choices for us to live in the deepest harmony with ourselves.

The post Tarot gives you a wider lens for your life appeared first on Tiina Urm.
